Achieving Potential Together
Our aim is to support children towards achieving their full potential by creating carefully planned lessons tailored to meet the needs of each individual child. We are committed to equipping children with knowledge, skills and understanding and in turn, developing confident, life-long learners. We firmly believe that teaching and learning is a partnership, consequently we value on-going communication with parents and strive to support them as they navigate the journey of primary education.

About Us
Helping Hands Tuition was founded by Suzannah Alcorn in 2022 during her first maternity leave and is based on the outskirts of Limavady. Suzannah qualified from Stranmillis University College, Belfast in 2018 and was fortunate to secure a teaching position in a local primary school that same year. She has experience across both KS1 and KS2 with the majority of her employment spent in Primary 6/7.
Suzannah began tutoring during her latter years of secondary education and has been working privately with children and parents ever since. Throughout her time in schools, Suzannah has witnessed both professional and parental frustration and a growing need for support in a system that faces huge financial challenges. As a result, she set up 'Helping Hands Tuition' in an effort to equip children with the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to become confident, life-long learners. Suzannah understands that every child learns differently and her experience in the classroom setting has given her the opportunity to develop effective teaching strategies to ensure that she meets the needs of all children. Suzannah has created a purpose-built, child-friendly, nurturing space where children can foster a love of learning and realise their potential - she would be delighted to show you round.
Finally, Suzannah considers learning a 'partnership,' as a result, she is also passionate about supporting and guiding parents and she endeavors to maintain honest, on-going communication with them. Parents of children signed up to a class at Helping Hands Tuition are free to avail of professional advice at any time and will have access to appropriate resources and activities which can be used at home.
